F.F.A. Scholarships-The window for this year’s FFA Scholarship application will open November 15, 2016 and close on February 1, 2017 at 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.  See Mr. Tyler Johnson re: log-in information.

 

America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders-This scholarship, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, will be awarding $500,000 in college scholarships to students pursuing ag-related degrees across the country.  Three hundred fifty-two (352) students will each receive a $1,500 scholarship.  To learn more, go to GrowAgLeaders.com.  To apply, go to FFA.org/scholarships. Applicants do not need to be members of FFA to apply.   The deadline is February 1, 2017.

 

College of Southern Idaho Scholarships-The application for the C.S.I. scholarship program opens December 1, 2016.  You must complete the admission process in order to apply for scholarships.  Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan to enroll full-time at C.S.I.  ACT/SAT scores are considered in the selection process.  Submit the CSI Scholarship Application, which can be found at MyCSI on the Money Matters tab by March 1, 2017.  Applicants must also complete the FAFSA by March 1st.  Don’t forget to also check out department/program scholarships for additional opportunities-there are separate applications for these scholarships.

 

National Honor Society Scholarship Program-Applications and further information will be available in the NHS Scholarship section of the website starting on November 16, 2016.  Student applications and all recommendations must be completed online.  The deadline for student applications is February 10, 2017.  Applicants must be NHS members in good standing.  The scholarship criteria include the four pillars of NHS, as well as financial need.  Three hundred (300) semi-finalists will receive $1,500 scholarships.  Twenty-five national finalists will receive an additional $1,500.  The national winner will now receive a total of $15,500.

 

Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association Scholarship-This scholarship opportunity is open to students interested in the irrigation industry.  Majors may include:  Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agribusiness, Turf Landscape/Irrigation Architecture and Design, or Agriculture/Horticulture Education.  Applicants will be graded on their career objective, grade point average, activities and overall impression.  Points are awarded if an applicant has his/her application signed by an IIEA member.  The application deadline is February 27, 2017.

 

D.L. Evans Bank Scholarship-D.L.Evans Bank will be awarding forty-eight (48) $250 scholarships to 2017 high school graduating seniors who are planning to attend any of the following institutions:  College of Southern Idaho, College of Western Idaho, The College of Idaho, University of Idaho, Idaho State University, or Boise State University.  (Eight scholarships will be awarded to each of the above colleges.)  Applicants must meet the following requirements:

·         Preference will be given to students majoring in finance, business, or economics; however all other majors will be considered

·         Student must be full-time and attend college in Fall 2017

·         Must have 3.0 GPA at time of application

Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Student Loans 101 Course-Free course for incoming and current college students to learn about financial aid, scholarships and loans.  The course contains 4 main sections with 22 short lectures and should not take any longer than about an hour and a half to complete.  This course can be found at https://lendedu.com/blog/financial-aid-scholarships-student-loans-101-course/.

 

2017 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program-High School seniors are eligible for $10,000 renewable scholarships.  Applications will be judged on leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship.  Apply online at reaganfoundation.org/scholarships or facebook.com/GEReaganScholarships.  The application deadline is January 5, 2017.

 

Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee Scholarship-Applicants must be a resident of the Twin Falls, Gooding, Jerome, Blaine, Camas, Minidoka, Cassia or Lincoln counties.  Applicants must be pursuing an agricultural curriculum at an Idaho institution.  The scholarship application, essay, 2 letters of recommendation and a picture of yourself must be received by December 16, 2016.  See Mrs. Draves for a copy of the application.

 

Farm Bureau Speech Contest-The theme this year is, The Many Roads of Idaho Agriculture.  The speech must be not less than 5 minutes or more than 8 minutes in length.  Applicants must attend an Idaho school during the 2016-17 school year and be in grades 9-12.  Participants do not need to be Farm Bureau members.  Speeches will be given at the Twin Falls County Farm Bureau Office at 4:30 pm on January 27, 2017.  For additional information, please see Mrs. Draves in the counseling center.

 

Cubes in Space-Opportunity for students, ages 11-18, to launch experiments into space!  Idoodledu, inc. in partnership with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Wallops Flight facility, the Colorado Space Grant Consortium and Langley Research Center is offering Cubes in Space, a program providing students an opportunity to design and compete to launch an experiment into space at no cost.  The deadline for program registration is January 6, 2017.  For more information, visit http://cubesinspace.com.  Questions about this program may be directed to info@cubesinspace.com.

 

4th Annual Hispanic Healthcare Careers and Technology Conference-The Hispanic Healthcare and Manufacturing conference is a one-day conference whose purpose is to raise awareness among high school students of the need for qualified Hispanic/Latino healthcare workers and Advanced Manufacturing in the Idaho workforce.

 

This year’s Keynote Speaker is Sgt. Oscar Vazquez from Underwater Dreams and Spare Parts.  The conference will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 on the College of Southern Idaho campus.  The conference will provide the opportunity for participants to learn about different careers in health and technology.  Participants will also connect with role models and mentors in the respective industries.  To register, go to fhla.org.  Prizes and scholarships will be awarded.

 

S.C.W. Dreamers Scholarship-This scholarship opportunity is open nationwide to those students who will be attending college during the fall semester of 2017.  The scholarship is a one-time award of $2,500.  Applicants must be a high school senior or undergraduate student who is a US DREAMer or immigrant under the age of 25; must have entered the U.S. before age 16; have lived continuously in the U.S. for at least 5 years; not convicted of a felony, a “significant” misdemeanor, or 3 other misdemeanors.  Applicants must also have a 3.0 gpa and submit a transcript.  Applications can be found online at http://workinjuryaz.com/phoenix-workers-compensation-lawyers/


National Wild Turkey Federation's Dr. James Earl Kennamer Scholarship Program-Students should be graduating seniors with a 3.0 gpa; students must be pursuing a degree at an accredited institution of higher education; students must support  the preservation of the hunting tradition and actively participate in hunting sports; students must  hold a current NWTF membership; students must be involved in school activities, demonstrate leadership among their peers, and demonstrate community leadership/involvement.  Applications are available in the counseling office.  Application deadline is January 1, 2017.
